The first collections of works converted to ePub format are available from Biblioteca Nacional de Espa\u00f1a<\/a> (BNE<\/a>), in the Biblioteca Digital Hisp\u00e1nica<\/a>, for free downloading.<\/p>\n

This ongoing project involves the provision of some 700 works in ePub format and, for this purpose, not only works of literature and language have been selected, but also of history, geography, medicine, biographies, travel … and a collection of and about women in which a research group of the UCM has participated and which is already available.\u00a0For this collection, titles of Rosal\u00eda de Castro<\/a>, Emilia Pardo Baz\u00e1n<\/a>, Carmen de Burgos<\/a>, Hildegart<\/a> or Concepci\u00f3n Arenal<\/a> have been selected, as well as works such as A Portrait of a Woman (Un retrato de mujer)<\/em><\/a> by Jos\u00e9 Selgas, The Emancipation of the Woman (La emancipaci\u00f3n de la mujer)<\/em><\/a> by Jacques Novicow or The woman of the whole world (La mujer de todo el mundo)<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>by\u00a0Alejandro Sawa.<\/p>\n

Also available are literature works of the nineteenth and twentieth century: Valle-Incl\u00e1n<\/a>, Lorca<\/a>, Alarc\u00f3n<\/a>, Valera<\/a>, Carolina Coronado<\/a> … and many other authors whose work is in public domain.<\/p>\n

The objective of this project is twofold: to offer new access formats to the digitized collections of the BNE<\/a>, and to generate through the conversion to ePub process, new data sets, clean and structured, which can be useful for the improvement of searches or the application of digital textual analysis tools.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
